This week we met as a group for the first time and started to lay out the basics for this semester. We shared our contact information and then moved on to sharing our ideas for the project, as well as what our individual strengths were. I shared that I prefer to do anything related to writing, and it seems like we have a pretty well-rounded group with some people’s strengths being in photography, videography, graphics and editing. While we are still brainstorming different possibilities for our project, we discussed the possibility of working with a new, primarily Latina, girl scout troop in Lincoln. We could potentially help to get the word out about this new group as well as to help them increase cookie sales, among other things. I love this idea and think that I could be really interesting, considering they are building this troop from the ground up, which is not something you really get to see often. The only worry that I have with this idea is if we would be able to get enough content.
As far as challenges for the rest of the semester go, I think the only thing that I am worried about is how busy all of our schedules may be. As of right now, we are planning on meeting on Sunday afternoons, which I think should be fine, I am just slightly worried that as the semester continues and we have more work to complete that we will not be able to find enough time to meet as a group. With this being said, I am still optimistic that we will find a way to meet as often as is necessary to succeed this semester.
